Dear Prospective Yearbook Student,

After partaking in this class for two years, I have learned a lot about yearbook. First off, I learned to expect the unexpected. Yearbook is nothing like I expected it to be. It takes a lot of hard work and effort. Secondly I learned that the class isn’t all about getting out of class or getting in games free to take pictures. Aside from sports being very hard to capture for a picture, there are a lot of different aspects of the yearbook class; it’s not all about pictures. Lastly I learned not to waste time because time really does fly and deadlines come quicker than you’d think.
I do believe my words hold some type of value. So read the following closely…

Yearbook class is honestly what you make it. It can be a miserable blow off, or it can be an exhilarating way to get insight on happenings in the school and to get involved. I would advise against taking yearbook as a blow off class. Take action and actually do work! Meeting deadlines and making yourself available for your assignments is very important. It’s great to make friends within the class but don’t spend too much time interacting with them. Upon learning to meet deadlines, organize, and make commitments, the most important thing you will learn is how to be a part of a team. Teamwork is very important to this class, and you will learn that without a partner, the struggle is real! Make a conscious effort to be a part of the team. Have fun and work hard and you’ll seriously enjoy the class.
